Lansdowne Children’s Home is a purpose-built, safe and secure environment based in East Sussex, that provides care to young people aged from 10 to 17. Lansdowne is a local authority run home, which focuses on the educational, emotional and physical wellbeing of the children.

The recent re-development has seen Lansdowne extend its capacity from seven bedrooms to now accommodate an additional five bedrooms. For the bedroom spaces, our popular Ryno® bedroom range was chosen to offer an easy to clean, durable, safe solution. Ryno’s unique one-piece construction and its hidden floor fixing solution improves safety by removing concealment opportunities, making this range suitable for any challenging environment.

Interior décor choices include blues and greens which help soften the grey base environment and reintroduce a homely, welcoming aesthetic. To help with this ethos; Contessa foam drums and Boden bean bags were chosen to provide soft and safe flexible seating options.

In the TV rooms and other communal spaces, we designed and installed bespoke fitted cabinetry to give plenty of lockable storage space. The blues, greens and muted pink finish of the cabinetry follows the therapeutic colour palette seen throughout the new build,  complemented by the use of brightly coloured furniture in other parts of the  building.
