CARE GUIDANCE
GENERAL TIPS
- Please remember fluids can penetrate stitching and zips
- Comfort is subjective and something we cannot account for. Please ask for samples to check if the furniture is suitable for you before purchasing
- Some of our ranges are available using dual fabrics to add multiple textures and colours to one item of furniture
- Loose covers can shrink slightly after the first wash. If this becomes a problem, adjustments can be made to the Velcro fixings
- Cracking and stickiness on vinyl fabrics are known issues to fabric manufacturers. As furniture manufacturers, Pineapple cannot accept responsibility
NON-WATERPROOF FABRICS
- Should be vacuumed and wiped clean with a damp cloth regularly
- Remove spills immediately with an absorbent cloth
- Microfibre cloths warm water will remove most stains
- Kitchen cleaners, abrasives, aerosol cleaners and polishes must not be used
- Waterproof fabrics are non-elastic which may result in slight puckering on certain models. This may also occur once fabrics have become stretched after use
VINYL AND WATERPROOF FABRICS
- Should be dusted and wiped clean with a damp cloth regularly
- Microfibre cloths with warm water will remove most stains
- For extreme soiling use 5% hypochlorite solution (e.g. Chlor-Clean or Haz-Tabs)
- Solvents including alcohol-based cleaners must not be used as they will cause damage
- Kitchen cleaners, abrasives, aerosol cleaners and polishes must not be used
- Cracking and stickiness on vinyl fabrics are known issues to fabric manufacturers. As furniture manufacturers, Pineapple Contracts cannot accept responsibility
LEATHER
- To clean, use mild soap and a damp cloth and wipe dry
- Always test soap on an unseen corner first
- Avoid the use of detergents, abrasives, polishes or wax
- Avoid the use of Hide Feeds as this cannot be absorbed into most upholstery leathers, and will form a residue on the surface
COLOUR AND PATTERN
Whether you want to create a warm, cosy snug or a serene environment inspired by nature, colour can be a useful tool for establishing the atmosphere of a room.
Colour zoning can also be a useful tool for visually separating large, open spaces by grouping furniture in similar tones.
For residents living with dementia or reduced vision, it is important to choose upholstery which sufficiently contrasts with the flooring, and to avoid complex patterns to aid recognition and prevent confusion.
RYNO® FURNITURE
- Easy to keep clean with a soft cloth
- It is recommended to use our Ryno multipurpose cleaning wipes, gentle general household detergents, degreasers or anti-bacterial cleaners
- It is important to avoid using abrasive materials or cleaning agents for cleaning as this will scratch and dull the surface
- Steam cleaning and jet washing must not be used as they will adversely affect the surface finish
- Using solvents brings a risk of damaging the surface
- Please use caution with bleach and chlorine disinfectant
- Avoid placing in close proximity to sources of heat
CABINETRY CARE
Melamine Faced Chipboard (MFC) cabinetry has an easy to clean, hygienic surface which can be maintained by wiping over with a dry or damp clean cloth. Spillages must be removed immediately by using either a soft clean cloth, a sponge dampened with warm soapy water or a mild household detergent then wiped using a damp clean cloth to remove any remaining soap or detergent, dry using an absorbent paper towel or microfibre cloth. The following cleaning agents should not be used;
- Avoid using scouring and abrasive agents (abrasive powders, scourers, steel wool)
- Avoid using polish, washing powder, furniture cleaner, bleach
- Do not use detergents with strong acids and acidic salts
- Avoid using steam cleaning equipment
- Never use substances that leave traces (waxes or oils for instance)
- Hot objects should not be placed directly on the surface, as this may result in discoloration
